Nimbus Grip is a silicone foam based grip and is the latest in staff grip technology. It combines the best features of EPDM foam (great in moist or dusty conditions and slightly squishy for enhanced griping) with the additional benefits of being silicone based (much higher durability, two color options, natural heat resistance). The white option will get dirty over time and you will never get it perfectly white again. However, if you toss your staff in the air at night, you will be able to see it vs a black grip. Compared to EPDM, this grip will not rub off on you and is close but not quite as good in wet conditions. Classic grip is thinner but loses its grippiness much faster. Om grip is thicker and not as grippy.
Om Grip is a yoga mat based grip with adhesive-backing. It has more give then the other two options and is slightly less grippy than Nimbus grip. Om grip is especially good for dragon staff work, where you don't want the hair on your arms pulled out and the extra cushion will allow for longer practice times. It comes in four colors options and doesn't leave residue on your arms after use (like EPDM does). It is not as grippy as Nimbus grip, so for those artist looking for the most tacky staff grip, Nimbus or EPDM is probably a better option.
Innovation Nod - while we independently tested a bunch of different yoga mats and found we liked this one best, we were later told that we selected the same yoga mat Wizard's of Flow also choose a year earlier. We tried to contact them a few times to talk about how we could work together as we were majorly upgrading this solution by adding an adhesive backing, but we never heard back from them. However, to our knowledge they were the first to use this yoga mat brand.
Nimbus (Silicone Foam) Grip comes in three pre-cut lengths: 40" lengths (for a Contact Sword or a single Double Staff), 90" lengths (for a Contact Staff or a pair of Double Staves), and 120" lengths (for Dragon and Helio Staves). You can also purchase lengths by the foot.
Om Grip comes in either 1.5 and 2 inch strips. The 1.5 width will cover about 36 inches of a 3/4 inch staff. The 2 inch will cover 40 inches of a 7/8" staff. We recommend the 1.5 for contact staves and 2" for dragon staves.
